TESTIMONIALS:
Dr. Syed Khaled Hussain, Professor of Political Science: “Nancy Pearlman never ran away from fighting for what’s right, that’s why she stood up for the part-time professors of the Los Angeles Community College District.”
Florene Freasier, Legal Specialist and Yoga Instructor: “I found your work on ECONEWS television series as well as your documentaries on PBS to be quite informative and very much educational in nature. The hours of research, training and study it took to acquire the skillset as well as the knowledge it takes to become proficient enough to share your findings with others, through articles and tv shows is what I believe should qualify you as a teacher. Through your work, your studies, travels and research, you have proficiently and with extraordinary knowledge, have proven that you are an expert in your field. You have successfully and publicly shared your findings through news articles and television and radio shows and even speaking engagements; all this combined makes you a teacher in my opinion."
Students:
Teresa D. Martinez: “Nancy, I’ll never forget your unwavering support of students in 2009 when I was ASO president at LA Mission College. In 2009, we were in the thick of the recession and classes were being cut leaving students unable to complete classes in time to transfer or graduate. You kept the district financially accountable. For example, you questioned the expenditures of the district on printers and asked why we were not negotiating a large-scale, comprehensive contract across the district to better leverage the district’s purchasing power—an expenditure that was in the millions. It was your thoroughness and your tenacity and the diligence with which you questioned what was seemingly just overlooked and allowed to be that always stuck with me. You looked everywhere for ways to improve the district. You inspired me to do the same at our own college and we found a dormant, unused student representation fund previously unreported to our council. We made sure to open it to our students and got our campus active to advocate for community colleges. I will always be proud of my time swerving the students at LA Mission College. I worked every day like it was my full-time job and did so from the heart. I never got to thank you for your work before.”

Rick Meghiddo, AIA, Architect and Filmmaker: “Nancy Pearlman interviewed me for her KBPK 90.1 FM Environmental Directions radio series about my architectural documentaries. Later on I did a documentary about her: vimeo.com/244388702. She cares about historic preservation.”
